How to install VS Code in Ubuntu Linux


Visual Code , a syntax highlighting code editor with debugging capabilities is a must have for a developer’s toolkit nowadays. Microsoft Visual Code have a good extension eco system to leverage the development process.

How do we install VS Code in Ubuntu. Ubuntu come with snap package management system, we can use the snap command install the apps as follows.

sudo snap install code --classic

In case your ubuntu miss the snap, you need to install it first in Terminal as follows

sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd

We can also install the app using the Ubuntu software center. In Development Tool category you can find the VS Code and go head and click the Install button
